The Windows genealogy database program, Ahnenblatt, was updated to Ahnenblatt 4.13. Ahnenblatt 4.13 has over 35 changes since version 4.12, mainly optimizations and corrections.
One major new feature/innovation – you can zoom in and out in the whiteboard preview with the mouse wheel/track pad scroll when holding down the CTRL key. Dirk Böttcher, the software’s author, also mentions you could zoom in and out with CTRL + or CTRL – as well.
When adding a new person to your tree, you can now switch off the “Automatically suggest birth name” feature – this was an issue in Spanish-speaking countries, as well as with those using patronymic-naming (such as “John + son = Johnson”, etc.).
For those of us with German or Hungarian relatives or ancestors, the sorting in books/directories was adjusted, and umlauts are no longer sorted behind Z.
Also, when creating local family books, it’s easier to delete large numbers of people from the book who do not belong there, reducing what used to take minutes down to seconds.
This is a free updated for current Ahnenblatt 4 license owners. You can download a demo version here (registered users will be able to unlock it with their license):
