MobileFamilyTree was first released by Synium Software GmbH for the iPhone and iPod touch as “MobileFamilyTree 1” all the way back in 2008, not long after Apple’s iOS App Store opened up in June of 2008. From the very beginning, you could synchronize your genealogy data/family tree with MacFamilyTree on the desktop/laptop, and it allowed you to edit your data. In 2011, MobileFamilyTree Pro was released, possibly the first independent genealogy app for iPhones, iPod touches, and iPads (it was not a companion app that required MacFamilyTree). MobileFamilyTree 7 was capable of doing everything that MacFamilyTree 7 could do. MobileFamilyTree 8 took sharing further and allowed multiple users to contribute to one family tree.
And with MobileFamilyTree 10, support for the Apple Vision and its (Augmented Reality) AR features has been added.
