iMeUsWe: Family Tree & Stories 3.9 and 3.10

iMeUsWe: Family Tree & Stories 3.9 was released last week and 3.10 was released yesterday, and both versions are major updates to the iOS/iPadOS/Android genealogy app. Really, it’s more of a genealogy social media platform than just a genealogy app, for genealogists from India, or who have family members living in India, and version 3.10 great enhances the social media aspect.

iMeUsWe: Family Tree & Stories 3.9 brings “AI Stories” which helps you draft stories (including personal memoirs) as well as some improvements/updates to the user interface, plus some bug fixes.

iMeUsWe: Family Tree & Stories 3.10 brings “Communities” which allows you to connect and build communities with other iMeUsWe members who have the same interests/values as you, beyond your family tree.

It’s a very unique program (and website), in that it’s meant to be an easy-to-use app, functioning both as a social media app to stay in touch with family members and share photos and stories, but also as a genealogical app, tracing a family tree and accessing records (see the screenshots at the bottom of the post).

I wouldn’t mind seeing a more general version of this, that could be used for populations outside of India – various companies have tried, but none have seemed to be able to do it.

As previously noted, it appears the website version of the app handles GEDCOM files, but the mobile versions do not (that is subject to change). They have some DNA testing functionality, but it seems more about health-related testing than genealogical testing.
