Genealogy Software Briefs – March 2, 2025

These are the “minor” genealogy software updates that have been released since Sunday, February 23rd, 2025.

Unfortunately the Family Historian User Group forums are still down, but the home page is up as is the Knowledge Base. Family Tree Analyzer (a Windows program that..does what it says it does) has received a beta update, the first since December of 2023. FindMyPast apparently added a puzzle to their app. KinTree now supports Urdu & Arabic. Storied now allows you to design and create StoriedBooks in the Studio tab.

Note: iOS/iPadOS (iPhone, iPad) and Google Android updates, as well as browser extensions, need to be downloaded from their respective stores. It’s not uncommon for the version numbers and release dates between the same app on different platforms (iPhone vs Android) to be different or slightly off. When the updates are the same between two platforms, the updates are only listed once.

If you don’t see an update to a particular genealogy app/program that you know received an update, that’s probably because received its own story, but if not – please contact us!

  • Fixed crash if individual has no name at all
  • Fixed bounding boxes of frames should hopefully finally fix scroll bar issue caused by hiDPI setting

  • Previously ignored duplicates may return due to revised way of storing changes.
  • Child Birth Profile chart unavailable needs re-written to work with .Net Core 8
  • Forms open on main PC window not window that main program is running on
