Who Do You Think You Are – October 2024 Issue Out

There aren’t as many genealogy-related magazines as there used to be, so I’m covering the ones I know of, and the October issue of Who Do You Think You Are is out. It’s popular in the UK, but also here in the US (not to mention the TV show of the same name).

I happen to have Amazon’s Kindle Unlimited subscription, and Who Do You Think You Are is one of the magazines I read through KU (see screenshot at the bottom of the page) – you don’t “own” the copy, but have access to it while you are a subscriber. I pay $11.99 a month (USD) – there is no yearly subscription and you can cancel anytime. If you buy a new Kindle, you might get a few months free. I wish more genealogy magazines had been made available through Kindle Unlimited (really wish Internet Genealogy had not folded).

Some of the articles in this month’s issue:

  • 10 easy steps to grow your family tree – Expert tips from Who Do You Think You Are? genealogist Laura Berry
  • Blood on the tracks – The shocking accident records of Victorian railway workers
  • Know your place! – How to conduct local history research
  • Boer War Ancestors – How to trace them online
  • Reader Story – Ash James’ grandfather was a secret agent in Egypt in the First World War
  • Around Britain – County Durham research

You can purchase/read it through the following means:
