MacFamilyTree 10.4 Released, 50% Off

Synium Software GmbH has released major upgrades to MobileFamilyTree 10 and MacFamilyTree 10, upgrading its iPhone and iPad mobile genealogy app to MobileFamilyTree 10.4 and its Mac genealogy program to MacFamilyTree 10.4. If you look at the release notes for both programs, you’ll notice that they are the same – MobileFamilyTree is basically MacFamilyTree ported to the iPhone and iPad.

Along with the major upgrades, they are having a 50% off sale through September 15, 2024, through the Apple App Store, lowering MacFamilyTree 10 down to just $34.99 (USD). Both upgrades are free to existing users (MobileFamilyTree and MacFamilyTree are separate purchases).

There is a lot that is new with MacFamilyTree 10.4. The screenshot you see below is the improved Statistics Maps with Heat Maps, that helps you with visualizing your research – you choose statistics such as births, burials, deaths, marriages, etc., and then it will generate a heat map showing concentrations of whatever statistics you chose. You can then visually see areas where the most and least, and in-between events took place, and you can restrict the data to a subset of individuals to help you see trends.

Statistics Maps as a whole were improved as well, in terms of better readability and enhanced user interface – you can see below, the menu/sidebar on the right – clicking on the various things (such as birth events or death events) will then generate the map showing higher and lower concentrations of said event..

Demo: You can download a demo version at the link below, but there are limitations – you can’t save data, printing is disabled as is data export, and the Cloud features are disabled:
