John Nairn has updated GEDitCOM II, a macOS genealogy program, to version 3.2, build 4, and it’s considered an important update for GEDitCOM II users who are build 3, as it fixes two issues that some users were having, as well as providing some very important information regarding older Macs and Google Mapping APIs.
This is a free upgrade for currently-registered users of GEDitCOM II and can be downloaded here: http://www.geditcom.com/GCDown.html
You can read (and ask any questions) on the official GEDitCOM II Google Groups thread.
It requires at least macOS High Sierra 10.13 or higher.
Developer’s Note: Finally, when testing this version on old Macs, I noticed that Google’s mapping API no longer works (neither in GEDitCOM II window nor in old versions of Safari). See this FAQ for details are work-arounds if you have an old MacOS:

For those writing Internal Scripts, GEDitCOM II now installs two internal scripting modules in the Application Support files you can “Load” into any internal script. These modules will develop further in the future and are not yet documented. You can open them in the “Script Editing Workplace” of GEDitCOM Editor and see comments that document each available subroutine. |
