GEDitCOM II version 3.2, build 2 has been released for Macs running macOS 10.13 and higher, and is a free upgrade for currently-registered users. Version 3.2 build 2 is focused on improvements and fixing issues found in GEDitCOM II Version 3.2 from last week.
It can be downloaded here: http://www.geditcom.com/GCDown.html
You can read (and ask any questions) on the official GEDitCOM II Google Groups.
Developer’s Note: Sorting sources by date needs the source date and GEDCOM is a bit strange on that topic. A source date can be entered three places:
- In source detail of the citation
- In a custom _DATE tag in the source record (a GEDitCOM II addition)
- At level 3 (DATA.EVEN.DATE) in the source record.
The new sort feature looks for all three (in that order) and uses the first it finds. Two sources with the same date will sort by source title.
GEDitCOM II 3.2 Build 2 Changes |
Fixed if #var1!=0 && #var2!=0 && #var1>#var2 condition. Previously the != in any block except the first was misinterpreted as a comment. |
Fixed new copy and paste source options so source shows a link back to the newly cited record. Before you had to close and reopen the file to get the cross-referencing links correct. |
Fixed one issue in OpenLayers maps when using POIs that have apostrophes in their names. |
Added new option to sort sources by date/name in the “Default Format” (click source icon next to a list of 2 or more sources). |
