If you use Ancestris 13, the “development” version of Ancestris, the free open-source Java-based genealogy program, you’re probably aware that it has a fairly active development schedule that sees updates released fairly often (sometimes daily).
Most of the updates from the past few weeks were some UI updates, bug fixes, translation updates, and improved backups, along with PDF and report improvements.
It is a GEDCOM-based program, and there are three editors built into Ancestris which you will sometimes see referenced in the updates – Cygnus, for individual entries and events, the GEDCOM editor, and Aries, for information in general. Most will probably find themselves using the Aries editor, and there were some UI updates in the Aries and GEDCOM editors over the past few weeks.
Ancestris 13 is currently building upon Ancestris 12 (which is still receiving updates). You can download Ancestris 12 or Ancestris 13 here, along with installation instructions:
