If you currently use the genealogy software RootsMagic 10, hold off on creating a Relationship Chart report (standalone or within the RootsMagic Publisher) – people are experiencing an issue with some data loss when using the Relationship Chart. Note: It only affects data that has been added or edited after exiting the Relationship Chart window – it’s not wiping out your genealogy database, it’s just additional data that is temporarily in memory and had not been written to the SQLite database on your computer’s storage/drive.
There will be an update for RootsMagic 10 released on Monday, December 9, 2024 to address it, and you should be able to apply the update automatically from within RootsMagic.
You can read an in-depth discussion on the official RootsMagic community (RootsMagic.com).
From the official RootsMagic Facebook Group:
On Monday (Dec 9, 2024) a new RM10 update will be released to resolve an issue causing data loss. Until then do not generate a Relationship Chart in RM10. We have found any data entered after generating the Relationship Chart is lost once the program is closed. If you must run the Relationship Chart close the program and reopen before entering new data. This issue does not affect versions prior to 10.
