MyHeritage: Family Tree & DNA for Mobile (July 2024)

Over the past few months, MyHeritage has released several updates to its MyHeritage: Family Tree & DNA mobile genealogy app for both Google Android and Apple’s iOS/iPadOS for iPhones and iPads.

MyHeritage: Family Tree & DNA is exactly what it sounds like – it’s a mobile app that lets you connect with the MyHeritage genealogy service/website, and synchronize with your information stored on MyHeritage, as well as search records, build family trees, match records and DNA, etc. – it’s a mobile version of the MyHeritage service on your phone.

Unfortunately, as I’ve mentioned in past posts about MyHeritage products, they generally don’t release any specific information on software updates unless there is a new feature, so I assume that these last few releases are just bug fixes. In this case, both the most recent updates for the Android and iOS releases of MyHeritage: Family Tree & DNA, as well as for the iOS version going back to mid-April have only this to say in their release notes:

We’ve enhanced our app’s performance and stability. Update now and enjoy a smoother and faster experience. Thanks for choosing us!

In April/May, this information appeared for some of the Android releases, and it stands to reason it applies to the iOS/iPadOS versions.

New! Easily keep track of historical records you used to enrich the data in your family tree. Open your tree, tap a person, and navigate to the Records tab. The tab will show any records you previously saved or confirmed as relevant to that person.

I am not sure why the iOS version jumped to version 6.5.0 on June 24, 2024 from version 6.4.7 on June 13. Generally that kind of version update would indicate new features.
