Familienbande 22.12.2023 was released yesterday (December 22, 2023) with several new features and several bug fixes. It’s a free, cross-platform genealogy program program (Familienbande translates from German into English as “Family Ties” but it’s not that Family Ties).
It’s developers desciber it as “a software package for the management of genealogical personal data.” It’s available in 11 languages, and supports 32-bit and 64-bit Windows, Linux, and macOS (including Apple’s M-series “Apple Silicon” cpus.
The last update was in October and was a smaller update. This update adds, among other things, a phonetic search for last names/surnames, first, and nicknames. Import log generation was improved, as was the update/download process (for updating the software itself). There are also a lot of bug fixes.
